Gaurav Gill takes an unprecedented 15+minutes lead after Saturday’s 12 stages, at Coffee Day India Rally, APRC. Gill’s team-mate Ole Christian Vieby struggled initially until SS7, however later went on to win the remaining 5 stages of the day, but the difference was way too large to close the gap. P.G.Abhilash a privateer from India driving Subaru Impreza was quicker in a few stages and as a result, took the first runner-up spot by the end of SS6 and retained it until end of the day. He now has 2m25.1s lead over third-placed OC Veiby.

Mike Young driving the VW Polo R2 was faster among the 2wd drivers, however, his retirement from the rally after SS5 due to a technical snag in the car meant his fight for top honours, a distant dream.

Four more stages remain from Sunday, to crown the India Rally & APRC 2017 championship winner. With the margin, it is quite imminent who the winner is, but the young Norwegian isn’t willing to give up until the last mile! In another 10 hours, will make things clear and final!

karna-wins-inrc-india-rally-2017Karna Kadur won the INRC & INRC2 at a mere 1-second gap to the forever charging competition from Arjun Rao, while Dean Mascarenhas finished in third overall and first INRC3. Coming to the debuting Toyota Liva’s didn’t live to the expectation as they were down the board all throughout the rally, but ensuring a finish; perhaps to get the mileage for testing under real-time rally? Maybe!
